Mark Ewing
In 2003, Mark moved to Crested Butte seeking relaxation and a peaceful lifestyle. He began as the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce in Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte, then returned to the Mortgage Lending Business in 2006, joining Community Banks of Colorado as a Mortgage Banking Officer.
Mark is Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Board for the Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley, President of the Board of the Junior Achievement Organization in Crested Butte and Gunnison, an Elder at the Oh-Be-Joyful Church in Crested Butte and a founding member of CBiZ, an economic development group in Crested Butte. He has recently agreed to help lead the Gunnison Valley Leadership Group and has been instrumental in organizing the Civility Initiative of the Gunnison Valley.
In his spare time Mark likes to ski and fish; if he could find a way to combine those activities, his life would be full!
Anne Hausler
Anne Hausler and her husband, Gary, run Lost Miner Enterprises in Gunnison, CO, where they moved with their daughter, Catherine, from San Francisco in 1996.
After teaching developmentally disabled children and adults and counseling in juvenile justice programs until the late 1970s, Anne spent 20 years in adult education , technical training, and executive development in major corporations and the public sector, as well as teaching in graduate instructional technology programs at San Francisco State University and University of California-Berkeley Extension. Formerly an instructor and professional development liaison for Western State College of Colorado’s Teacher Education Program, she holds a BS in special education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MA in educational technology from San Francisco State University, and has taken extensive MA in Writing course work at the University of San Francisco.
An avid reader, writer, participant in and supporter of education and the arts, Anne has remained active in a variety of writing, arts, and education projects/programs in the San Francisco Bay Area and Western Colorado.
In addition to LifeSkoolz, Anne serves on the boards of the Gunnison Watershed RE1J School District, the Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley, Junior Achievement, Gunnison Area Restorative Practices, and Gunnison Valley Cattlewomen and is a member of the Colorado Department of Education NCLB Committee of Practitioners, and the Gunnison Valley Poetry Alliance of the Gunnison Arts Center.
Jennifer Read
Jennifer Read is the secondary counselor at the Crested Butte Community School in Crested Butte, Colorado. She has a Bachelor of Science in English Education from Indiana University and a Master of Arts in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. Prior to her current position, Jennifer was a high school English teacher, an elementary teacher, and an outdoor educator.
Jennifer is an avid runner and enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, climbing mountains.
College and academic advising, bullying prevention and restorative justice are areas of special interest.
Don Wills
Donald Wills has lived in Gunnison for six years with his wife of 40 years (Joy). They have two grown sons.
Don is the Executive Director of Gunnison Area Restorative Practices, a nonprofit working toward restorative justice in the Gunnison area. He works primarily with youth and their families toward repairing harm, restoring lives, and building community. Using the model of restorative conferences, the organization works with juveniles diverted from the criminal justice system or on referral from the court, schools, and other public agencies.
Don has a bachelor’s degree in social science, a master of divinity degree and a juris doctor degree. He has been a lawyer (admitted in California since 1978), an ordained minister for 11 years and has been serving in his current position for nearly three years. He is keenly interested in juvenile literature and its impact on teenagers.
Patrick Robinson
Patrick Robinson is a nationally certified School Psychologist. He has been the School Psychologist, serving as Gunnison Watershed School District for the last eight years. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the State University of New York, Oneonta, and received his graduate training and degree in School Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado.
Patrick has dedicated many years of his life to understanding human nature and helping people understand themselves. He remains very active in local community based programs and along with his full-time position as school pyschologist he is a member of the Family Advocate Support Team and the Gunnison County Substance Abuse Prevention Project.
Patrick is an outdoor enthusiast and loves spending time in the woods with his wife and dogs.
